Eagle Days Squaw Creek is Coming
One of my favorite times of year is closing in quickly. The time of year for one of the many Missouri Eagle days. The Squaw Creek Eagle Days kicks off the beginning of the great migration of many birds in the middle of the United States through the state of Missouri. It also generally marks the date when the largest number of Bald Eagles will be present in the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. This event happens the first weekend of December every year. This year's Eagle Days will be held the weekend of December 1-2. The refuge publishes weekly counts every Monday or Tuesday depending on if there is a Federal Holiday or not. This week's count shows that there were 74 Bald Eagles, of which 11 are adults and 63 are immature.
